Garage Sale To Feed Kids

We are heading over to Sri Lanka for a life changing experience, to carry out a few charitable projects (see my other post on this subject).

The main aim is to help kids break out of the cycle of poverty.  Help educate children stuck in a cycle of poverty the only way for the cycle to be broken.

We are having a huge Garage Sale/ handmade jewelry market this weekend to raise funds for this good cause!

If you are in Melbourne eastern suburbs, come along to help us raise funds that can change lives this weekend 9am-3pm, 8th & 9th Aug at 6 Wendy Ct, Heathmont(near Ringwood) Vic 3135.

The proceedings from the garage sale will go towards setting a “meal a day” program to provide a meal for children in schools that needs it the most.  Did you know it will cost less than 60cents to provide one meal for a child in Sri Lanka?

We sponsor three kids at a very poor village school, where most kids go without even one meal a day, so I will start there and work my way to spread the love.

Be happy knowing that every 60¢ you spend today will feed a hungry tummy.

Every little bit counts!!!!

What is at the Garage Sale?  Pretty much everything, I am just giving away most material things that we can live without.

Loads of  quality baby/kids items including cot, pram, Breast feeding rocking chair, highchair, baby car seat, toys (heaps of them for $2), clothing.  Household items, kitchen appliances not even taken out of box, bed linen, towels, books including chemical engineering text books, Laptop, and much, much, more.

Inspirational Woman: Bessie Bardot – living life in the flow

Bessie and her family is so inspirational for someone like me who is dying to make a drastic change in life in order to really live. I am dreaming of the day my husband joins me on my mission to live free, differently, giving back to the world. Till then I will do what I can with my two kids. My next destination being Sri Lanka, I have a few ideas to giveback.

Bessie Bardot is a well known Australian business woman, media personality, author and mum who, with her former Gladiator/best-selling author husband, Geoff Barker, decided to give up their high flying, high profile life in Sydney, give away their worldly goods and (with their young daughter BlueBelle) head for the open road and a simpler life.

Following their time travelling around Australia, they continued their journey further afield. They are currently in Los Angeles, but shortly head for Alaska for another part of their adventure. Their new life is all about Living in the Flow, and here Bessie explains what that is all about.

What made you decide to give up your high flying life and go on the road?

It was actually my husband’s idea. He wanted to make a big change for years and had suggested a few drastic idea’s which I always turned down.

Then 2 months…
